My first trip to the Melbourne Cup when I was 21 ..I sat on the fence watching the horses come down the straight from the mounting yard to the starting gate ..I managed to take some photos and this was one .. Having returned to watch the Cup, you cannot even get near this area now … and the car park is no more as well ..
